Acceptable Use Policy
This policy sets out acceptable use of Hostingcone services, prohibited abuse, customer responsibilities, and the measures Hostingcone may take to protect affected systems and users.
Use this policy together with the Terms of Service and the conditions of your purchased service.
1. Purpose and Application
This Acceptable Use Policy explains how Hostingcone services may be used and how service-related abuse may be addressed. It applies to customers and users they authorise, including use of hosting, domains and DNS, email, website services, Website Care, technical support, security and backup products, and associated customer services.
Read this policy with the Hostingcone Terms of Service and the conditions of your purchased product or agreed work. Only the services and features included in your order are provided. Mandatory rights under applicable law are not excluded by this policy.
2. Lawful Use and Customer Responsibilities
Use the services lawfully and provide accurate account, contact and service information. You are responsible for the content, applications and activity you control, and for managing users you authorise to access your account or website.
Maintain the permissions, software licences and content rights needed for your use. Do not use Hostingcone services to facilitate fraud, unlawful transactions, unlawful disclosure of private information, or other activity prohibited by applicable law.
3. Prohibited Abuse and Harmful Activity
Do not distribute malware, operate phishing pages, steal credentials, facilitate unauthorised access, or deliberately interfere with another person’s systems or services. Denial-of-service attacks, malicious scanning, exploitation and other unauthorised security testing are prohibited.
Do not use the services to distribute unlawful material, infringe another party’s intellectual property, or carry out threats, harassment or exploitation prohibited by applicable law. Security testing requires appropriate authorisation and must comply with the relevant provider’s conditions without disrupting shared systems.
4. Email, Spam and Messaging Abuse
Do not send unlawful spam, use compromised accounts to send messages, falsify sender identity for deception, or operate phishing or malware campaigns. Email activity must comply with applicable law and the conditions of the relevant email or third-party provider.
Use legitimate recipient-acquisition practices and honour applicable consent and unsubscribe requirements. Keep your email applications and credentials secure. Sending limits, permitted automation and other restrictions depend on the purchased service. Review those conditions before sending messages or configuring automated delivery.
5. Hosting Resources and Service Integrity
Use storage, processing, memory, bandwidth and other resources within the limits and conditions of your purchased service. Do not deliberately evade technical restrictions or operate workloads that materially disrupt shared infrastructure or other customers.
If usage causes a service problem, Hostingcone may request configuration changes, investigate the affected workload, or discuss a more suitable service within the applicable terms. Resource descriptions do not authorise harmful activity or override disclosed product limits. Consult your plan’s resource limits and technical conditions before changing workloads.
6. Website Applications and Security
Maintain appropriate access controls, supported software and licensed themes and plugins for systems you administer, except for tasks expressly included in an agreed Hostingcone service. Do not knowingly use compromised software or leave identified malicious activity operating on a service you control.
Notify Hostingcone if you suspect compromise or unauthorised account use, and cooperate with reasonable containment and remediation steps. A compromised website may require temporary restrictions to limit ongoing harm. Security products and remediation work do not eliminate every risk or guarantee successful recovery.
7. Website Care and Authorised Technical Access
Website Care, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, migration and related work depend on the purchased scope and agreed instructions. Customers must have authority to request work and provide any permissions and access reasonably needed for that work.
Do not ask Hostingcone to bypass another party’s access controls or modify systems without permission. Share credentials only through an agreed secure method; do not place passwords, API keys or private keys in ordinary request forms. Third-party software and environments may limit what can be assessed or corrected.
8. Domains and DNS
Use domains and DNS records for purposes you are entitled to carry out. Do not use them for phishing, malicious redirection, deceptive impersonation or other prohibited activity. Keep registrant and account information accurate where required.
Domain registrations and transfers remain subject to registrar and registry rules, eligibility and availability. Registration does not establish trademark ownership or other legal rights in a name. DNS changes require appropriate authority and may affect website and email availability.
9. Third-Party Products and Platforms
Third-party email, productivity, security, backup, monitoring, SEO and other products may have their own acceptable-use rules, licences and technical limits. Those requirements may also apply when a product is purchased through Hostingcone.
Do not use Hostingcone services to evade a provider’s restrictions. A third-party provider may take action under its own terms; Hostingcone cannot guarantee that such action can be prevented or reversed. Any assistance remains subject to the relevant purchase and available provider access.
10. Data, Backups and Privacy
Keep appropriate independent backups of important content and data. Backups are a recovery aid and do not guarantee that data loss can be prevented or that restoration will succeed. Review the scope and conditions of any purchased backup service.
Hostingcone may review relevant service information and logs as reasonably needed to investigate reported abuse, provide authorised support, protect affected systems or meet applicable legal obligations. Personal-information handling is described in the Privacy Policy. This policy does not promise continuous monitoring or complete detection of misuse.
11. Reporting Abuse
To report suspected misuse involving Hostingcone services, use the Hostingcone Contact page or the existing customer support channels. Provide the affected domain or service, a description of the issue, relevant dates and evidence you can lawfully share.
Do not include passwords, private keys or unnecessary sensitive information. Hostingcone may request additional details to assess the report. A report alone does not establish that a violation occurred, and any assessment depends on the available evidence and circumstances.
12. Investigation and Proportionate Enforcement
Hostingcone may investigate credible reports or indicators of misuse and take measures reasonably related to the violation, legal requirement or risk involved. Depending on the circumstances, measures may include requesting clarification or remediation, restricting affected functions, containing harmful activity, or suspending an affected service.
Where practicable, Hostingcone may give notice and an opportunity to address the issue. Immediate action may be needed for ongoing harm, serious security risk, repeated misuse or a legal requirement. Action should consider the severity, impact and available evidence.
13. Suspension, Termination and Restoration
Serious or repeated violations, failure to address a material risk, or applicable legal or provider requirements may result in suspension or termination under the Terms of Service and relevant product conditions. Hostingcone may require reasonable evidence of remediation before considering restoration.
Service restoration is not guaranteed and may depend on security checks, third-party decisions and the remaining service agreement. Billing, cancellation and refund questions remain governed by the applicable purchase terms and Refund Policy, subject to mandatory legal rights.
14. Changes to This Policy
Hostingcone may update this policy to reflect service, security or legal requirements. The last-updated notice identifies the version presented on this page. Any changes must be applied consistently with the relevant agreement and applicable law, including notice requirements where they apply.
Customers should review this policy alongside their product-specific conditions. A change does not remove mandatory legal rights or authorise unrelated changes to an existing purchase without a valid basis.
15. Contact Information
For questions about acceptable use or an enforcement notice, use the Hostingcone Contact page. For account-specific matters, use your client area or support-ticket channel and identify the relevant account, domain and service.
Include relevant information and ask for clarification if you believe a restriction was applied in error. Do not send sensitive credentials through ordinary messages.
